reply with, go to your local book store with your books, but ask questions. The reason is because there is a learning curve that you need to have at your side. I know that no one wants to be rejected. The most important questions to ask is; "Where did you get all of your books? Who did you buy them from?" The next question to ask is, "How do I contact them, myself?" The average person loves to help when being asked for help. So start your question with "Could you help me?" You will find good results and that they buy them from publishers and book distributors.

Book distributors are one of the keys. In order to sell your books to a distributor you first need to know what they cost. This is not POD, purchase on demend cost but what they really cost to make your book. Believe me the price difference between POD and regular book printers is very far apart! The best way to start costing a book is to go to local book printers and ask, how many for what cost with all of the particulars. Price out a small quantity and then ask what if there are more. Every printer has price breaks for volume production and you want to know what they are. Write down the informationand be sure to know how long it takes to do what… Each printer has a certain amount that they are able to produce in a week and each printer has lead times before they are able to print. This way you have an idea of delivery dates if you wrote an order today.

Once you have priced out some local book printers then you might want to price out the cost of importing books from another country. When pricing out books from another country producing them you have to make sure that they follow the country standards. That is important. There are ink and color regulations from one country to the next. Lead issues etc. Find out the lead time and the minimums along with price and shipping cost. Write everything down. Try to have samples produced from everyone that you have worked with that are acceptable to you. Be sure everything is to your liking and you are comfortable with those you might end up working with. This applies especially with importing your books. Please note I didn't say buy books from anyone yet!

Now you're ready to knock on doors and that should be with retail and distributor doors, again you are your best salesperson for your books. I know this might sound scary and guess what, it is at first, but you'll get the hang of it and find the right words to sale your books, the right face to put on when you are meeting a buyer etc. That's how I sold 250,000 books of my first 6 titles. You can most certainly do the same.

Online indie author book marketing is completely different. You have to play by web rules and they might not be what you think. You are one person and you don't have the time it takes there is not 72 hours to the day and it takes more than that for days and weeks and months even years. Sure you can sell some books but how many? That is the question. At Book-Spot.com {we are

Indie Authors Guide to Book Marketing from Vancouver, Washington

Book marketing 101

Everyone that's written a book wants to see it published in most situations they are pulled in by the vanity publishing companies. "Pay me and your book will be…" sounds great until reality sets in! There are right ways in marketing books and yourself and there are easy ways.

The easy ways of marketing your books are being exploited today by every online retail outlet including Amazon. The fastest growing segment of the book industry is indie authors. We are out there and want to see our books published, available to the public right now! Trust that they're taking advantage of it right now. They know the market place, what prices are best to sell your books and they all take advantage of the percentage split based on price. I am not suggesting that in the formal approach to marketing your books that there aren't percentages split, but the rewards are much greatertoo.

I should start off with a question or two; how many books have you sold of your most recent book? Then, maybe the next question should be; how many books do you want to sell? These are important questions that should be asked. You're a writer, an artist at that, but you are in the business of books and have to put on the hat of a business person, a sales representative and a marketer. It does not matter which of the formal approaches to book marketing you select. What does matter and it matters a lot that you take the approaches with the seriousness of a business person{.

How to interview authors from Cedar Rapids, Iowa?

How to interview authors

How to interview authors from there or Kuwait - Kuwait City or elsewhere in the world can be difficult but there are a few tips available that are good to use for your interviews.

Many bloggers that start holding author interviews have problems with what questions to ask. Many will ask the expected questions but hardly ask interesting questions, questions that would want to inspire a reader read more, that's what an author interview is supposed to do; inspire and engage the readers. What can an interviewer do to enlighten readers and engage their readers in an entertaining way? This is the problem that I will address.

Authors love being interviewed, I have to start the article off with that, but an author does not like mind numbing questions. You, as the interviewer already know that the author wants to talk about their most recent project. That in its self should be part of your introductions. Did you ever watch Johnny Carson interview someone or Jack Parr? They were a couple of really good interviewers that engaged the interviewee as well as their audience. That's the way to have an interview.

Study the author first. Look into something they have written, and then ask questions about it. Not questions just about their books but about them, dig deep pull something out of them that's entertaining out, something funny, something inspiring too. Something that will make your readers laugh and fully engage them in your interviews. That's what will bring them back to read your next interview and it is what will make the interviewee want more to do with you.

Below are a series of questions that I was asked once during an interview. I thought they were good questions to ask so I am sharing them with you. But one thing I do suggest is to ask questions during a live video chat that way you can go deeper and fully engage all concerned. Save the Q & A and post that to your blog! Now you've got something. Plus you can post it with a link back to your web site at Book-Spot.com in the author interviews.
